Marian College Hires Apogee To Manage Its Residential Network
AUSTIN (TX) - (October 10, 2005) Apogee, a leader in providing networking solutions to higher education, announced today that it has successfully assumed responsibility as the new provider of the residential network at Marian College, a private liberal arts college in Indianapolis.
"Marian College has been a tremendous partner, facilitating our involvement every step of the way," said Charles Brady, Founder and CEO of Apogee. "The net result has been a smooth transition for everyone involved, especially the students that live on the college campus."
Ed R. Bailey, Marian's Associate Director of the Computer Services Department, said that Apogee's involvement has been a positive change at the school.
"In the past, move-in has been three weeks of very intense work for the department," Bailey said. "Apogee has come in and taken a big load off of our shoulders."
Bailey added that the partnership with Apogee has also enabled Marian to "re-allocate its time" on initiatives that are central to the core mission of the college.
"With the students taken care of, we have been able to spend more time with the faculty, which have their own set of needs during move-in," said Bailey. "As a result, we have been able to facilitate the instructional component at the college, rather than facilitating students' access to the Internet for entertainment."
