SUNY Brockport, Chooses Apogee for Campus-wide Data Network, Wifi and IP-TV

Austin, TX - September 20, 2006

Apogee (www.apogeenet.net), the leader in providing innovative technology solutions and services to higher education, today announced that SUNY Brockport has enlisted Apogee to deploy and manage its state-of-the-art residential network solution, campus-wide converged wireless network, combination video and IPTV service.

With an enrollment of approximately 7,000, SUNY Brockport was searching for a solution to replace aging network equipment in order to keep up with the increasing demand for bandwidth and decided a new approach was needed.

"SUNY Brockport wanted to implement leading edge technology while stabilizing costs and freeing up valuable IT resources and saw the success that other schools in the region had experienced by outsourcing to Apogee," said Apogee CEO and Founder, Chuck Brady.

Apogee provides complete communication options to deliver a full suite of services:

  1. Ultra high-speed Internet connections - up to 15Mbps per user
  2. Wall to wall, fully integrated high-speed wireless access
  3. Standard & high definition cable TV
  4. IP Television to the desktop - no set top box required
  5. Year round on-site customer support

"After receiving proposals from possible providers, Apogee offered the best services and support by far and backed it up with a proven track record," said Shannon Sauro, Technology Project Manager/Director of Telecommunications, SUNY Brockport.
